  • RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Mr. Hicks' primary responsibilities include all aspects of architectural and engineering acoustics, audio & video, noise and vibration control. Mr. Hicks has been involved with the design of recording studios, educational facilities, large format theaters, museums, conference rooms, band facilities, multi-family residential, residence halls, healthcare facilities and courthouses. He performs analyses, design, recommendations and documentation relating to room acoustics, sound isolation, noise mitigation, community noise control, vibration isolation & mitigation, and audio/visual systems. Mr. Hicks is also very familiar with LEED for Schools and CO-CHPS requirements pertaining to acoustics.
  • PROJECTS EXPERIENCE
    • National Museum of the Marine Corps – Quantico, Virginia
      • Provided A/V and acoustic design, sound isolation, and noise & vibration design for executive office expansion. Scope of the project included board rooms, conference rooms, executive offices, and mechanical equipment spaces. Ongiong efforts include the construction of a Large Format Theater, conferece rooms, and expansion of the museum exhibits.

      Crested Butte Community School Addition – Crested Butte, Colorado LEED Project
      St. Vrain Elementary School – St. Vrain, Colorado LEED Project
      • Provided architectural acoustic design, sound isolation, and noise & vibration design for LEED for Schools certification of the elementary school.

    • Qwest Network Reliability Center – Lakewood, Colorado
      • Provided architectural acoustic design for large, 2-story, open plan engineering and sales offices for Qwest.

    • Colorado History Museum – Denver, Colorado LEED Project
      • Provided architectural acoustic design, sound isolation, and noise & vibration design services.

    • The Lofts at Belmar Square – Denver, Colorado
      • Conducted acoustic testing and sound isolation, noise & vibration design in support for the development of high-end residential lofts.

    • Direct TV – Los Angeles, California
      • Provided mechanical noise modeling and sound impact and mitigation design services for television broadcast facility. Developed a noise abatement plan to reduce mechanical noise to levels acceptable to the City of Los Angeles and local residents. Noise mitigation plan included mufflers, silencers and sound barriers.

      Wheatland Armory Band Training Facility – Wheatland, Wyoming
      Buckley AFB Band Training Facility – Aurora, Coloardo
      • Provided architectural acoustics, sound isolation, and noise & vibration design in support of band training facilities located at various military bases.
