    • Mr. Vangen's primary responsibilities include all aspects of electronic presentation system design, architectural and environmental acoustics, and noise and vibration control. Mr. Vangen has been involved with the design of theme park facilities, motion base simulator rides, large format theatres, motion picture theatres, performing arts facilities, broadcast facilities, and medical facilities. He performs studies, analyses, design, specifications, and construction documentation relating to audio/visual systems, ride/show entertainment systems, room acoustics, sound isolation, noise mitigation, community noise control, vibration isolation & mitigation.
  • PROJECT EXPERIENCE
    • Terminator 2 3D - Universal Studios, Osaka Japan
      • A 700 seat hybrid entertainment complex of 'live action' coupled with large format 3-D motion picture presentation. Services provided included auditorium acoustics, audio systems, video systems, control systems, sound isolation, and mechanical/electrical noise and vibration control.
    • Disney Cruise Line Terminal - Port Canaveral, Florida
      • A voyage hub for the Disney cruise ship fleet. Video security project funding from U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security. Provided design and project management of wireless video camera surveillance system with auto-target tracking and digital recording capabilities.
    • Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site - Golden, Colorado
      • Acoustic testing, voice intelligibility measurement, and analysis of emergency voice communications systems for U.S. nuclear weapons complex. Design and specification of a redundant campus wide area voice and data network.
    • Minnesota Marine Mammal Education Center, Minneapolis, MN
      • Design of 3-way underwater communication system to enable multi-media interaction between guests, trainers, and dolphins. Coordinate acoustical, audio, video, and control system design elements and create construction documents.
    • Waterworld - Action Stunt Spectacular, Universal Studios Hollywood
      • Developed a noise abatement plan to reduce entertainment pyrotechnic noise to levels acceptable to the City of Los Angeles and local residents. Noise mitigation plan included show schedule timing, pyro load charge limitations, and sound barriers.

      • Mr. Vangen's primary responsibilities included work as a project manager to test and integrate hardware with software to construct wireless video networks. He prepared construction documents and technical plan drawings to guide industrial security system installers.

      • Mr. Vangen served as Senior Audio Video Engineer for the Universal Studios Japan theme park project overseeing environmental acoustics, noise and vibration control, architectural acoustics, audio video system integration.
